Language Arts: 

6^th Grade:

• Took a quiz in commas, colons and semi-colons (6^th grade only). 
• The students were introduced to the book club options for our next book. They will be receiving their book club book on Wednesday.
• The expectations for the May R and E were given out. This R and E is different and will focus on the “Classic Genre.”  Please review the list of options with your child and return the signed sheet by May 1^st.
• I am also including two “Must Read” list on the blog.  There are some other options on this list which I may allow. I will not allow all of these book.  Especially, the more popular/current ones. I really want the kids to “stretch” their reading choices.

6^th Grade:  Worked on revising complaint letters that were below 60.  Also, worked on an assignment on Criterion.  This is due tomorrow.

5^th Grade:   Same lesson as 6^th grade.

Social Studies: Completed the reading notes for lesson 11.

Language Arts: 

6^th Grade:  Completed an in class writing activity about their spring break.  Continued with our class read aloud, Red Kayak.

5^th Grade:   Same lesson as 6^th grade.

·         Remember to make sure you have your letter of complaint on your H-drive so we can edit and send the letter on Wednesday.

Social Studies: Began lesson 11 today. Received the vocabulary words for the unit.

6^th Grade:  Completed a reading activity using the “tough question” strategy.  They also received their rubric for their final paper that is due on Thursday.

5^th Grade:   Same lesson as 6^th grade.

Social Studies: Created a review for lesson 10. We discussed ways to study for a test and strategies they could use to create their own review. 

Homework:   Complete review and it is due tomorrow. Test will be on Thursday, April 3^rd

Science Literacy:

• We will be presenting “Girls Read”  projects on Wednesday, April, 2nd
• We will have a reading “celebration” on Friday for “Girls Read”

Reminders:

       Grade Book closes on Tuesday, April 15th. We will not be taking any late assignments for the third marking period after the 15th.

6^th Grade:  Students turned in their rough draft of their letter of complaint.  We revised and they will receive suggestions from me for improvement tomorrow. They also received their grammar packet.
