Language Arts: Today we finished our book club discussions and took a quiz on our novel. Please bring your laptop on Tuesday for our writing assignment.

Homework: 

• Read for 20 minutes. Remember to read for your book club
• Wiki reading response due on Friday
• Laptop for Tuesday (if  possible)

Word Study:  The students received their spelling words. They are due on Tuesday, January 17^th.

                                

Social Studies: We continued to work on the colonies and made advertisements for their assigned colony.

Language Arts: This is our last week for book clubs. Today the students shared their journal prompts and created discussion questions for their final book club discussion tomorrow.  Quiz tomorrow on your novel. It is 15 questions and it will be on moodle.

Language Arts:  Today we worked on being “essayist”. We learned the difference between a narrative piece and a non-narrative piece. We are preparing for our next writing piece which will be a five paragraph essay.

Reminder: TWO journal prompts are due on Thursday, January 5th. They must be in cursive, 3/ 4 in length for the response and NO SPELLING ERRORS.

Language Arts:  We had reading workshop for 20 minutes and we began our new unit in writer’s workshop. We are starting essay writing. We walked about the school and wrote down the things we noticed.
