Language Arts: 
6th Grade:  We went over making a claim for the story “Scouts Honor” and shared the claims that have been made and evidence to support that claim.  We also read chapters 8 and 9 in the novel, Chains.  They took signposts on the reading.

5th Grade:   Same lesson as 6th grade. Expect

Homework:  Remember to read nightly.
·         As always you will need a chapter book for class tomorrow!!
·         April R and E due on the 30th
·         May R and E book choice due on May 1st
·         Spelling is due on May 5th
·         May R and R due May 28th


Social Studies: Read lesson 12 and completed the reading notes.

Homework:   Complete all reading notes.

Language Arts: 
6th Grade:  Today the students turned in their grammar packets and took a quiz on quotation marks and underlining titles.  They also worked on literary essay and making a claim.  They need to complete the sheet in their packet on making a claim on the story “Scouts Honor.”  Spelling was passed out as well.

5th Grade:   Same lesson as 6th grade. Expect they took a quiz on adjectives.

Homework:  Remember to read nightly.

Social Studies: Began lesson 12.   Completed the preview and worked vocab. The vocab words are the following:  Declaration of Independence, Second Continental Congress, Minuteman, militia, equality.

6th Grade:  We read pages 35-47 in Chains and will complete “Signposts” for the two chapters we read on Monday. Journal response #1 was turned today.

  • I meet with the students going to Colonial Williamsburg and allowed them to work on assignments we will be completing on Monday.

5th Grade:   Same lesson as 6th grade.

  • Started the book Chains.  We will be reading this book together as a whole class and completing a variety of activities based on the novel.
  • We will complete the prompt for the first 5 chapters in class tomorrow or you can work on it at home. Remember the journal requirements from the packet for completing a prompt.  This prompt needs to be completed by tomorrow.
