Language Arts:

·         6^th Grade:  Read chapters 4 and 5 of Red Scarf Girl.  In your Reader's Notebook or on the journal sheet, answer the following prompt (minimum length 1/2 page):

 

      Some students, like Yu Jian, are judged positively because of their family backgrounds.  The following saying was popular during the Cultural Revolution: “The son is a hero if the father is a revolutionary. The son is a rotten egg if the father is a counterrevolutionary.”  Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Do you think it is fair or appropriate to use family background to judge someone in a positive or negative way? Explain your answers.

·         5^th Grade:  Read chapters 3 and 4 of Red Scarf Girl.  In your Reader's Notebook or on the journal sheet, answer the above prompt (minimum length 1/2 page).

·         Homework:

• Read for 20 minutes or more nightly.
• May R and E is due on Monday, May 20^th
• June R and E is due on Monday, June 10^th

Social Studies:  Read Junior Scholastic together in class.

Homework:  One page AAEEC (Address, Answer, Evidence, Elaborate, Conclusion) response to one of two of the articles (Eye Spy or Putin's Russia) we read in class.  Assignment sheet with prompt is here.
