Language Arts:
- 6th Grade: We started our new novel study. We are reading the novel, Watsons Go to Birmingham. With this novel we will be doing a variety of activities, including writing prompts, class discussion and a literary analysis at the end of the novel.
- Today the students received their spelling list and direction for activities to complete on Spelling City. All work is due on Monday, February 11th and the test will be that day as well.
- Some of the words may seem simple and easy and as I explained to the students, that is FINE. I expect their spelling to be correct in all of their writing. In all subject areas. I expect them understand the spelling patterns. If I see they are consistently spelling everything correctly, I will consider moving their levels.
· 5th Grade: Same lesson as 6th grade.
· Homework:
- Read for 20 minutes or more nightly.
- 6th grade reading response due on Monday, February 4th
- February R and E due Tuesday, February 12th
- 5th grammar packet due Wednesday, February 6th
- Spelling due on Monday, February 11th
Social Studies: Began lesson 11 and worked on the “Scroll” with a partner. We will continue working on this tomorrow.
