Language Arts:
  • 6th Grade: We continued  reading Watsons Go to Birmingham.  The students must finish the following three prompts:
  • Language Arts:
  • You will be answering the following prompts in your Reader's Notebook:
  • You must have the following in your notebook:
  • 1. Today's date
  • 2. You must write the prompt
  • 3. In cursive and spelling counts
  • Answering the following in detail and use support from the book
  • 1. How does the author use imagery to explain the setting?
  • 2. From which point of view is the story told? What do you learn about the narrator in Ch. 1? How might the narrator's perspective affect the way the story is told?
  • 3. Identify a major conflict in Ch. 1, Is it resolved? What conflicts do you expect will come up again in the Watson's family? Why?

·           5th Grade:  Same lesson as 6th grade.
·         Homework:
  • Read for 20 minutes or more nightly.
  • 6th grade reading response due on Monday, February 4th
  • February R and E due Tuesday, February 12th
  • 5th grammar packet due Wednesday, February 6th
  • Spelling due on Monday, February 11th

Social Studies:  Completed the scroll and worked on reading notes for sections 11.4, 11.5 and 11.6. Also completed processing for the lesson.  The following is the processing prompt that needs to be completed on a piece of lined paper.

Solomon made to the origin and development of Judaism. Then, from your list,
choose the individual who you think made the most significant contribution and
explain your choice in a well-written paragraph
